Ellen Dieter is an internationally educated contemporary artist who divides her time and studio focus between San Diego, California and Honolulu, Hawaii. Having studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Cooper School of Art, and Les Arts Appliqués in Paris—alongside a decade spent living and working in Europe—Dieter draws from a deep well of abstract expressionist influences. Her diverse portfolio bridges abstract and figurative styles, showcasing an expert mastery of composition, light, and vibrant color. Approaching the canvas with a philosophy of “constant intent combined with reckless abandon,” Dieter captures the rhythmic push and pull of the human experience. Dieter’s work is held in private collections worldwide. She is proudly represented in San Diego by Adelman Fine Art since 2014, where originals are available and custom commissions are accepted.
