This piece came through on a calm coastal day, where the horizon blurred into a soft sky and the wildflowers danced without needing to be seen. I wasn’t painting a view, I was painting a breath. That gentle pause when the sea quiets, the air warms, and everything blooms just a little closer to stillness.
Layered in creamy impasto, the blooms stretch in soft blush, pale gold, and silvery lavender. The light moves across the canvas in hush-toned sweeps, capturing the hush and shimmer of a coastal morning.
