"'Ursus 6' is the latest variation of my bear theme. I’m drawn to painting bears because I live in bear country and I fear them. Bears are North America largest carnivore and for me, painting them is a form of showing my respect to these beasts. But, at a more basic, artistic level, I just love playing with shapes and color and slightly different compositions while keeping within the limits of my familiar bear design." ~ Erik Abel
