Artwork Story
This is an oil painting taken from photographs, sketches and an old drawing of Hadrian's Theater, which is part of Hadrian's Villa, outside of Rome. My wife and I visited here a few years ago. I have used this image in many of my paintings under the idea of the history of theater. I liked the "romantic" qualities of this work. The oil is mixed with wax. -Anders Shafer
