I am a creative person. I like to observe and paint what my mind remembers. I have painted and drawn every day of my life. To me, art is my rebirth. Art makes me feel productive and is my way of expressing love for life.
At the age of 3 (1965) my dad saved a drawing of mine and I still have it. I always wanted to teach my sisters how to draw.
At 16 Years old (1979) I enrolled to art school “Casa de la Cultura” in Tijuana Mexico. I started painting with great passion. That passion still follows me and I feel it every time I take the brush.
My adolescent life was creative every day. I had more than 48 exhibitions in Tijuana, Mexicali, and received several awards that motivated me. I was founder of “Circle of Art 15” group (in 1983) and I participated in an exhibition “Mujeres Creadoras de Tijuana”(1988) at Centro Cultural Tijuana. I also founded “Grupo Centenario de Tijuana”(1989).
As years passed I dedicated my time to my children, showing them the best of me as a mother….. but always encouraging them to see life as art.
Now I have dedicated myself to return to my passion, painting again, presenting my works in Spain, and creative clothing art for a fashion show in Spain in June 2021, and showing in my first California gallery, Adelman Fine Art.
What is Art? if not the most beautiful thought that shines though my eyes and feels with the strolling of my brush ~ Maritza
