The ghost cypress trees along Carmel's coastline are beautiful to paint, their pale bark sculptured into twisted, abstract shapes that reflect the ambient light. This painting captures the coastal scenery with thick, impressionistic brush strokes and vivid, pure hues of color.

'The Diver' is an original oil finger painting by Iris Scott.
'The Diver' represents my vivid imagination of ‘diving into bed!’ It was pouring rain in Brooklyn the day I painted this work, and I felt like this surrealistic portrayal of a diver floating into bed, fed my need to paint dreaminess that day. This painting like all of my finger paintings is loaded with lush thick Holbein oil paints in vibrant colors. I like to think that the viewer can find their own dream somewhere in the painting. ~ Iris Scott
